X-SQUAD Home Page When someone hears the word X-Squad, they cannot help but think of perfection and precision. The X-Squad, the regimental drill team of Xavier High School, is known as one of the best trick teams around the nation. These young men are devoted with a passion for excellence. The X-Squad is a high school drill team that competes on the highest amature level; competeing against colleges in addition to other high schools. Xavier High School, for those of you who do not know, is in the capital of the world, New York City. Xavier H.S. was founded in 1847. After 90 years of basic drill, the cadets of Xavier decided that it was time for something new. So, in 1937, Xavier's Regimental Drill Team was formed and dubbed "The X-Squad." The X-Squad is one of the oldest, if not the oldest high school drill team in the United States. The "Squad," as we call it, has been an innovator in trick drill for decades. Unlike other high school and college drill teams, the X-Squad incorporates SPEED, PRECISION and intricate tosses into it's highly stylized routines. If you are interested in seeing one of the best drill teams on the East Coast, you can get in contact with the S.A.I. (Senior Army Instructor) at Xavier High School. The X-Squad has a couple of performances that it does every year. You can see them marching in the Columbus Day & St. Patrick's Day Parades in New York City. You can also see them at Villanova University when Whiskey Company hosts their drill competition. |
